This new event, under the direction of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid and its chief executive Charo Izquierdo, will be held in Ibiza on 8 July and is launched with the intention of becoming Spain’s second major fashion event, following in the footsteps of Madrid’s renowned runway. It demonstrates a firm commitment on the part of the Mercedes-Benz car brand to continue growing in the exciting world of fashion. At the same time, the runway is intended to become a key event in the international calendar of Resort collection presentations.

Its first edition will feature top designers and firms that are regulars at the Madrid runway and have a long international track record, such as Alvarno, Jorge Vázquez, Teresa Helbig, Andrés Sardá and Desigual, who will present their Resort creations for 2018. The five Spanish designers and firms selected offer an interesting concept of fashion and have names that are a vital part of the panorama of international design.

The organising committee of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Ibiza consists of Charo Izquierdo, director of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, the car company Mercedes-Benz España and Daniel Gómez Korf, Brand Director of the Palladium Hotel Group, to which the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel belongs. They will be responsible for promoting this event and ensuring that each runway is of the highest quality.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Ibiza is sponsored by L’Oréal París, which will provide the official make-up and hairstyles for the event, the fine jewellery firm Chopard, and Air Europa, whose planes will transport the models and designers to Ibiza.
