Elaine Honey is originally from Dublin, She is now based in Kill in Co. Kildare where she lives with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
Two years ago, Elaine Honey began designing and making a bridal collection. All of her designs are vintage inspired with an emphasis on classic lines and silhouettes. She began crocheting a little over six years ago and branched out into ladies wear, in particular bridal as Elaine felt this was an innovative and modern way to showcase the beauty and versatility of crochet. Elaine is extremely passionate about what she does and adores making crochet designs appealing to a broad range of people.
The talented designer uses a wide variety of natural fibres to create her gowns in particular cotton. The cotton she sources and creates with is of luxury quality with the majority of it being Egyptian. Recently Elaine started to add other textiles such as faux leather which she feels is an interesting contrast and adds a different dynamic to her designs.
Elaine’s talent is endless having designed many other fashion pieces using a mix of fibres including linen, alpaca, mulberry silk and mohair. Only the highest quality of fibres are used to ensure a more luxurious look and feel to each piece.
Elaine is no stranger to Wedding Fairs, Magazine’s, T.V and Fashion Shows where I seen her work first hand and has been highly received. Recently, Elaine was commissioned to design and make a gown for the 2017 Kildare entrant for the Rose of Tralee festival which was absolutely beautiful!
Elaine work’s from home but travel’s nationwide to arrange viewings and fittings. Each piece Elaine designs is bespoke and unique, no two pieces are ever the same!
