Tell us a bit about yourself and how did your interest in fashion begin?
My name is Maiara Arcenio, I’m a 26 years old Fashion Stylist/ Designer. My interest in Fashion began quite in the early days, when I was 7 years old and my granny taught me how to sketch. She used to be a Fashion Designer herself and I grew up watching her drawing, cutting fabrics and bringing to life these amazing clothes, I couldn’t help but fall in love with it. I went to a prestigious Fashion college in my home country and started my Fashion career straight away, getting my first internship as a Fashion Writer and Editor when I was 17. Never stopped since then.
Is there someone in the fashion industry who inspires you?
There’s a lot of inspiring people out there, definitely. Twiggy, for example, was one of my first style muse, Grace Coddington is my “career goals” in Styling and at the moment I’m loving the work of Alessandro Michele for Gucci, which, by the way, is one of my references for my new project.
What projects are you currently undertaking and where do you see yourself in the future?
Currently I’m focusing on getting out of paper an old project of mine, which hopefully soon will become my own brand. In parallel to that I just started writing again, after a proposition I got about a month ago.
Tell us more about ALT.R and where do you want to see it?
Alter Fashion Show was my first charity event and I couldn’t be more delighted about the positive feedback I got. Since the beginning the goal was to create a powerful visual language along with a creative and solid organization, so I could bring the show to wherever I go, which I hope will come to an end in the future. What I also hoped for the “brand” Alter was to get people in all different creative areas on board, so we could put something great and unique together.
