The seventh annual ‘Forget Me Not’ fundraiser was held in Geisha Restaurant, Malahide. The event is in association with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) and was set up by mother and daughter, Anne and Aoife Mulhair. They hosted over 170 women for dinner and a fashion show which raised €7,173 for the cause.
The ASI is particularly close to the hearts of the Mulhair family as currently, Anne and her three daughters are caring for her husband, (their father) Paddy at home. Paddy was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at the young age of 49.
There were many generous sponsors on the night including Mason Hayes & Curran, Eugene Berry Auctioneers, Jule, The Diamond Coast Hotel and Java, donating some fantastic raffle prizes. Fashion on the night was provided by Malahide boutiques, Marc Cain, Neola and Sans Souci and the hair was done by Malahide Hair Studio.
Anne Mulhair said: ‘On behalf of our family, Aoife and I would like to sincerely thank everyone for coming this year. We would like to express our gratitude especially to those who have attended since the fundraiser’s creation back in 2009. On a final note, many thanks to Mary Bardin, Eastern Operation Coordinator, for your touching speech on the night.’
