The new fashion show, held yesterday at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, brought together the 2018 cruse collections of five big Spanish fashion brands: Alvarno, Jorge Vázquez, Teresa Helbig, Andrés Sardá and Desigual. A sensational display of good taste with elegant, seductive collections abounding with power and magnetism, the essence of the Mediterranean present in all of them, infusing the event with a unique atmosphere.
This major event is organised by IFEMA—through its Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid catwalk–Mercedes-Benz España and Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel.
On Saturday, July 08 at 10:30p.m., the curtain fell on the first edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Ibiza, the new fashion show for Resort collections. A resounding success, it took place from 18:00 in the singular Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, around the pool with the sea in the background.
The event saw the exclusive presentation of the Resort 2018 collections of five big Spanish fashion firms: Alvarno, Jorge Vázquez, Teresa Helbig, Andrés Sardá and Desigual. They gave a sensational display of quality and good taste, with elegant, seductive collections abounding with power and magnetism, with the essence of the Mediterranean present in all of them. The event ended, as was only fitting, with a fantastic fusion of fashion and music. The the final show by Alvarno, headed by DJ Black Coffee, followed by a live show by Paul Reynolds (Resident DJ at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel) along with a saxophone player, was the climax to the day, together with the party held at the new club Hï Ibiza.
Organised by IFEMA and its Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid fashion show, Mercedes-Benz Spain and Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, the first edition of the event has already been confirmed as one of the key events in the international calendar of cruise collection presentations and the second big fashion event in Spain, after the now established Fashion Week Madrid.
Charo Izquierdo, Director of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid and this catwalk expressed her enthusiasm at the result of this first edition. “I feel very satisfied at having directed the first Resort fashion show in Spain, but above all at all the creative effort and enthusiasm of the creators involved in the event”.
This big new fashion event joins the more than 50 other fashion shows which Mercedes-Benz sponsors around the world. Reiner Hoeps, President of Mercedes-Benz Spain and honorary president of the show considered the show to be a great success and pointed out that “what happened tonight was way beyond our expectations. It was magical. The designers, the models walking down a catwalk floating on the water, the very special people who were there—we’re already thinking about how to surpass it next year”.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Ibiza took place at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel. This enclave embodies the concepts of luxury, design and avant-garde which it shares with this fashion show. Daniel Gómez Korf, Brand Director of Palladium Hotel Group and director of the event, only had positive things to say about this great fashion encounter. “It has been a real honour and an immense source of pride for Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel to hold a fashion event of this magnitude. We trust that this show will become an unmissable event for Spanish and international fashion.

Rosa Cará, Fiona Ferrer, Patricia Olmedilla, businessman Gonzalo de la Cierva, actress Macarena Gómez, supermodel Raica Oliveira, Carlos Martorell, Aldo Comas and model and influencer Mónica de Tomás, among others, were sure not to miss the exclusive presentation of the cruise collections on show at this event, hosted by Cathy Guetta.

Jorge Vázquez Resort 2018 is a beach-chic collection with casual and relaxed clothing for women who want to revive the feeling of the seventies.
The denim, knitwear and taffeta daytime garments are combined with rich silk muslins, gazars and silk crêpes for the evening. The Galician designer works with a warm colour palette.
SEVEN SEAS – GOOD VIBES: A voyage across the opulent Caribbean, the austere Atlantic, the romantic Mediterranean, the vigorous Californian Pacific in masterful easy couture garments with the Helbig seal.
Andrés Sardá presents High Season, a concept by the creative director of the firm, Núria Sardá. Surprising and full of contrasts, this resort collection is presented alongside special custom pieces.
Desigual presented 20 looks which exude the pure essence of Desigual, inspired by an Ibiza road trip and the exotic airs of the Mediterranean. The protagonists: patchwork and white.

L’Oréal París will be the official hairdresser and make-up artist of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Ibiza catwalk, where it will present the latest hairstyle and make-up trends. Ibiza joins all fashion weeks where L’Oréal París collaborates, together with the most important ones in the international scene, such as London, Paris, Madrid or Milan.
The high jewellery brand Chopard also sponsors this event, collaborating in the Alvarno catwalk with its collections Ice Cube, Happy Hearts and L’Heure du Diamant. Also sponsoring the event are Air Europa, the official airline of the event, and Facebook and Instagram, the natural platforms for the fashion world to search for, get inspired by and discover content. The collaboration of these sponsors strengthens the show’s digital impact.
