As we all start to sculpt our bikini bodies here are a few tips and hints from the celebrities.
Kathy Kaehler trains Jennifer Aniston and advises, ‘Eat! One big mistake women make is severely cutting calories, which slows your metabolism and makes you feel deprived. The result? You binge and gain weight. But, eat slowly. After each bite, put down your fork and count to ten.’
Harsley Pasternak works with Halle Berry and says, ‘Uphill walking is the best cardio exercise. (Do it outside or on a treadmill’s highest incline.) It’s easy on your knees while tightening your butt, thighs, and lower legs.’
According to Shakira, ‘I’ve never been able to stick to a really strict diet, but I try to stay away from simple carbohydrates and eat fruits and vegetables.’
‘For me, it’s about living and not obsessing. And really looking at diet as, ‘How am I going to have the healthiest, strongest body?’ Every day, girls are like, ‘Do I look fat?’ I’m so over that question. Stop it. And don’t obsess. When you want to eat something that’s not healthy, eat it, enjoy it, and move on! That’s what I do!,’ States E! presenter Maria Menounos.
Caroline Flack keeps fit by taking the squat challenge. This involves squatting 50 times on day one of the challenge and eventually increase it to 250 squats on day 30. It sounds tough but on the bright side, you’re allowed a rest every three days.
‘I’m big into working out with girlfriends. It’s an acquired skill, being able to discuss your love life, children and friends – all while you’re running! But we have mastered it,’ says Reese Witherspoon.
‘I try to eat locally, seasonally and always organically,’ Gwyneth Paltrow.
Britney Spears doesn’t eat fruit or even fruit juice because of the sugar. I eat chicken, salmon, avocados and rice.
‘Boxing is my passion’, says Victoria Secrets model Adriana Lima. ‘When I’m exercising, I’m having fun.’
‘No matter where I am, I try to shop farmers’ markets. It’s obviously the most fresh, and it’s also less expensive, and you get to communicate with the people who are planting the seeds and harvesting it themselves,’ says actress Shailene Woodley.
