Dublin based artist Mo Kelly is one of Ireland’s hotly tipped talents.
Her work is figurative and landscape based and is heavily inspired by new places and cities she has traveled to and the books and poetry she has read.
Mo has exhibited nationally and throughout Europe and U.S. As both a musician and artist, she is steeped in the cultural and creative art scene in Ireland’s capital. Her work has been geared towards capturing the energy and style of a vibrant musically infused city that is constantly in a state of flux.
Night time also features heavily in Mo’s work, her fascination with the trickery of twilight on her landscape scenes brings an other worldly dimension to her paintings. Her use of gold and silver leaf highlighting this fascination with light and shape.
A former Taoiseach has two of her paintings, Mo’s paintings were chosen from a panel of Irish artists on two separate occasions, and presented to An Taoiseach.
Sienna Miller is also a fan, likening Mo’s Work to “ A rock ‘n’ roll Modigliani ”
Mo recently had the pleasure and honour of presenting actor and former cultural ambassador to Ireland, Gabriel Byrne with one of her paintings at Ard Scoil Éanna, the school her grandfather founded.
Mo supports many charitable organisations regularly donating paintings for auction, one such organisation being Plan Ireland, Mo was delighted to be asked to design their St Patricks Day card which was sent all over the world.
Mo’s work can be found online through Saatchi Gallery www.saatchiart.com/monatural
Mo recently exhibited in New York, and in June of last year her work was chosen and displayed on the largest billboard in Times Square as part of the See Me – Art Takes Time Square. Mo is currently working on her eighteenth exhibition taking place this December in Dublin.
